The development comprised: 136 Studios for Post Graduate Students. Built on 9 storeys with a general reception, offices, 2 retail units, common room, laundry, bin & bicycle store at ground level. The 2 plant rooms are located in the lower mezzanine area and roof levels respectively.
Mechanical Services include a CHP generator, biomass and gas fired boiler plant to provide heating and domestic hot water services via 3 calorifiers. A full heat recovery AHU plant provides air to the common room within the lower mezzanine level and local fans serve the plant area; all being controlled by a BMS system.
Electrical services include LV distribution, small power, lighting, fire alarms, access control, intercom at the reception desk, disabled alarm systems, TV, CCTV, Data and communications in each studio.
Studios are equipped with heat recovery systems to provide free cooling during the summer and to recover rejected heat during the winter. Each with a bathroom pod complete with shower, WC, and WHB. Kitchen areas are fully fitted with all necessary appliances allowing residents a unique living environment.
